Vietnamese in the Modern Film Market
The Vietnamese Community has certainly stepped up in film production during the last five years with a foothold into the world film market with notable films such as The Rebel, Bay Rong/CLASH, Saigon Electric, Journey From the Fall and The Owl and the Sparrow. Original, Vietnamese films are in high demand in Vietnam.

VAALA- VietnameseAmerican Arts & Letters Association. VAALA is a community-based, non-profit organization founded in 1991 by a group of Vietnamese American journalists, artists and friends to to promote art and culture by, for and about the Vietnamese Community. VAALA has organized the Vietnamese International Film Festival

(VIFF) in Southern California since 2003. VAALA organizes other unique cultural performance events in Orange County and Los Angeles such as the Vietnamese Puppetry Workshops, art events and cultural activities.

Bay Rong/Clash- Johnny Tri Nguyen and Veronica Ngo The premiere kick-off of BAY RONG/ CLASH at Orange County’s Westminster 10 theatre was not only a big success, but a whole lot of fun for everyone that attended.
Lead stars Johnny Nguyen and Veronica Ngo were very accessible for press, video, photographers, friends and well-wishers.

Journey From the Fall tells the story of the Fall of Saigon in 1972 and the lives of Vietnamese imigrants that came to America- A story of pain, survival and triumph.
